NORTH UMFORD (DWN)
In a surprising press release today the Institute for Consumer Safety (North Umford's Largest Employer) announced that "Anyone wearing an 'I am McLovin' T-Shirt' is in fact a douche."
"I know this will be met with surprise in some quarters," admitted Institute Director Kevin Smiley, "But we came to the conclusion that everyone we ever saw wearing one of these t-shirts was an asshole and there was no way to get around that. We just thought putting this out on the wire would be the best way to get the news to the people. That way they can choose to be a douche-bag or not. We just try to keep people informed."
Paisley T-Shirt Co. ,the makers of the shirt in question, countered with a statement of their own. "Taste-makers will always be punished. If people without the good taste and ironic sense to appreciate that a shirt alludes to a movie want to belittle people who do posses those traits then there's nothing we can do about that."
Paisley went on to say that they planned to role out a new fall line featuring shirts with quotes from such movies as There Will Be Blood, No Country For Old Men, First Sunday and Superhero Movie.
"We're thinking of going with a milkshake joke for the There Will Be Blood Shirt," said Mario Smit, the head of Research and Development for Paisley T-Shirt Co. "It will be funny because they mention milkshakes at this one part of the movie and its really quite funny."
Davis was unaware of anyone else picking up on the humorous mention of milkshakes and expected the upcoming shirt to take the world by storm with its fresh and innovative humor.
So how do owners of McLovin t-shirts feel?
A man wishing only to be identified as "The Chill" owns several Paisley shirts including the McLovin shirt. His other favorite shirts are a T-shirt which looks like a tuxedo and one with an arrow that points downward toward his genitalia and says "Weapon of Mass Destruction." Mr. The Chill says that he feels hurt by accusations that he is a douche. "I always knew people were jealous of me but wow, to this degree? It really took me by surprise but I guess its true what they say people will always hate you if you're really cool and awesome."
